Looking for a simple PvE Smite Build.
I'm totally in the dark on this one. I have a bunch of quests to do with henchies and...well it gets very boring healing henchies, so I want to play offensively for these quests.
Can anyone help me out here? All class and skill combinations are accepted (so long as monk is the base proffession)
Thanks in advance

1.) Why do you feel the need to use henchies as a monk? Groups would love to do missions with you!
2.) Here's my shot at a few smite builds, skills only:
Banish
Reversal of Fortune
Guardian
Mend Ailment
Zealot's Fire
Balthazar's Aura
Shield of Judgement {e} (you use this on the tank since the npc enemies usually will wail away on him and take dmg)
Rebirth
boon/smite
Reversal of Fortune- Recharges fast enough so that you can spam it to scatter things from a caster
Mend Ailment- Condition Removal
Balthazar's Aura- Put it on your meleer and everything around him dies faster
Zealot's Fire- Extra dmg when you RoF or Mend
Mantra of Recall {e}
Holy Veil
Divine Boon
Rebirth
another boon/smite varient
RoF/Shield Guardian (you periodically cycle Shield Guardian because it blocks an attack and does a small area heal for allies.)
Draw Conditions (instead of Mend Ailment)
Balthazar's Aura
Zealot's Fire
MoR {e}
Holy Veil
Divine Boon
Rebirth
The first build should let you keep the henchies great company, the second should let you get on teams and enjoy your smiting and monking at the same time.

Quests, not missions.
I'll try the builds out, thanks for the help.

If you have factions, you need to look at Air of enchantment. Try something like this:
16 smite
10 prot
rest divine favor.. or you can pick a secondary you like and put pts in that, ele wards for example.
Air of enchantment (elite)
Reversal of fortune
Guardian
Balthazars Aura
Zealots fire
Smite hex
(open)
rez (or another skill)
Keep Air of enchantment up on a henchy tank (send the tank in first by pressing ctrl+shift+space), zealots fire on yourself, cast Balth aura on the tank followed by air of enchantment, then just cycle between rof+guardian+air of enchantment as soon as they recharge. Smite hex as appropriate for added fun. The elite gives you basically unlimited energy for triggering zealots fire. You'll get some scattering because of the aoe effect, but it still kills fast. I expect they'll nerf Air of enchant soon though...

Not likely that they'll nerf it. It's an elite, and if they nerf it then there's a non-elite skill that does almost the same thing, except that your skills would now cost you 1e.
For your above build I would suggest using a cheap single-target smite for finishing off targets and helping deal dmg... Banish is good for this.

I wouldn't use any of the Air of Enchantment-Zealot spam builds with henchies. They're just not good enough at taking (and keeping) aggro.
Here's the Smite build I use:
Smite : 12 + 3 + 1
Protection : 9 + 1
Divine Favour : 9 + 1
Shield of Judgment
Stonesoul Strike
Holy Strike
Spear of Light / Bane Signet
Smite Hex
Reversal of Fortune
Kirin's Wrath / Symbol of Wrath
Rebirth
I typically run into battle first, using Shield, then reversal. If any melee enemies attack me (and they almost always do), quickly hit C to target them, wait until they fall and then land Stonesoul Strike. Holy Strike can be used as an immediate followup, or after they hit you again. If there are still melee foes hanging around after Shield ends, hit Spear or Bane Signet, then drop Wrath to scatter them, giving you recharge time. Spam reversal as appropriate, but hopefully you'll have 2 monks as backup that will stop you dying.
Using this build, I've torn a hole through pretty much all of Cantha. I have yet to try it in Raisu, because henchmen aren't great at it, pugs aren't keen on bringing a smiter, and I keep missing the times when guildies do it.
Oni's will fall like flies to this, provided you can Smite away thier Shroud quick enough.

I tend to run the following for PvE when smiting. Very basic, and allows me to keep my distance.
Signet of Judgment {E}
Bane Signet
Banish
Holy Strike
Smite
Symbol of Wrath
<open>
<open>
The following is a nice build I once saw posted on another forum for a Mo/Me. Hopefully I'll give it a try, now that I'm a Mo/Me again.
Mantra of Signets
Mantra of Inscriptions
Signet of Judgment {E}
Bane Signet
Banish
Smite
<open>
<open>
Mantra of Signets to immediately recharge SoJ, and Mantra of Inscriptions to recharge (the second) SoJ and Bane Signet faster.

I have a Mo/E and I know how you feel.
When I quest with henchies, I don't bother with healing or protection. I go full out elemental.
I do enough damage with my elemental side that the henchie healers are fine healing everyone.
If you want pure smiting build:
Bane Signet
Holy Strike
Judge's Insight
Shield of Judgement (e)/Signet of Judgement (e)
Symbol of Wrath
Retribution
Blessed Signet
Rebirth
Max: Smite and Divine Prayer
Cast Retribution on henchies, and keep using Blessed Signet to keep up your energy. Symbol of Wrath is keep monsters from ganging up on you.

You could try taking 2 warrior henchies and using A echo + Balth aura (for Balth aura on both). Would be a ton of dmg if it worked.

Heres my standard smite setup:
16 smiting, 12 inspiration, 4 protection, 1 divine favour
Signet of Judgement, Bane Signet, Signet of Rage, Mantra of Signets, Mantra of Inscriptions, Smite Hex, Purge Conditions and Rebirth.
Put simply, you "echo" signet of judgement, then while you're recasting it, fast-track the recharge of your signets and unload them all one after the other, for some nasty pressure and a short lead time on your next attack to boot. The last 3 slots give some support where it's needed -condition removal and hex removal, which are ideal to use on melee characters. Finally rebirth is an obvious one, as even if you have to use it, the bulk of your other skills cost no energy and therefore will not be impacted by the energy loss.
Thats how I've played my smiter since forever, (well, I used to take smite instead of signet of rage,) just thought i'd share it with you.

They'll nerf it because it's throwing the PvP balance seriously out of line. Divine Spirit doesn't even compare as a replacement.
For PvE, smite builds that work around Zealots Fire are really really bad, because of the AoE scatter it causes.
